Rick Rodriguez

  Rick Rodriguez - CEO & Founder

As CEO of RMI International, Richard (Rick) Rodriguez Sr. is familiar with the challenges organizations face due to the continuous changes evolving within the security arena. He began his career with the Vivitar Corporation in 1991 as a Project Manager, functioning as liaison between the company and Department of Defense clients, and was responsible for field response during emergency situations. In 1993, he moved to Omega Corporate Security, Inc. where he was assigned as Branch Manager. There, Rick managed branch operations and handled all employee and client relations, while concurrently training as an Executive Protection Specialist. In 1994, he was chosen as part of an elite group of Security Relations Specialists for International Corporate Security Ltd. to oversee operations in Bangkok, Thailand. As Vice President, Rick managed international security relationships with dignitaries from numerous countries throughout South East Asia. He was also responsible for the executive protection of corporate executives and high profile personnel traveling in Thailand, and surrounding countries.

His last assignment in South East Asia was to aid the office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior and the Foreign Trade Office in Thailand with executive protection requirements. Upon returning to the Continental U.S., he was employed as the International Crisis Management Administrator and Executive Protection Specialist for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. During this time, he envisioned a tremendous need for Protection Specialists within large corporations, and subsequently founded RODBAT Management, Inc. (now RMI International) to fill that need. To date, Rick has served over thirty clients in almost twenty countries on executive protection details, and he has made a name for himself in the private security industry through his unwavering commitment to detail, planning, and execution of comprehensive personnel and asset protection programs. Rick prides himself on being able to locate and motivate security professionals, and leads people with those assets through extensive training and development, detailed direction, and a personal commitment to accomplish his client’s security objectives.

Lupe Rodriguez

  Lupe Rodriguez - CFO

Lupe Rodriguez began her career in finance over 20 years ago, starting with Security Pacific Bank (SPB) where she began as a teller before quickly rising through the ranks in the central cash vault. Her rapid rise is contributed to her ability to quickly and effectively grasp financial issues and implement immediate solutions.

Upon Bank of Americas' acquisition of SPB, Lupe left the bank to further develop her financial capabilities by accepting a position with Bullet Freight Systems, as an assistant to the credit manager. During her tenure she was responsible for many financial aspects dealing with the issuance of credit and collections.

In 1996, when Rick founded RODBAT he asked his wife's help in building a true American dream, a successful American minority owned company who could address the unique security needs that faced the world. In true form Lupe embraced the vision wholeheartedly and currently oversees all financial aspects of their company. Her job includes managing and overseeing annual sales in excess of 10 million dollars.

Rick Rodriguez Jr

  Rick Rodriguez Jr. - President

Rick Rodriguez Jr. is a highly decorated veteran of the United States Army. He served two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and one tour in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Throughout his military career, he served in a variety of leadership positions from Team Leader to Operations Sergeant, including two years as a Senior Drill Sergeant. Mr. Rodriguez has achieved a high level of accomplishment via military education programs highlighted by multiple Noncommissioned Officers Courses, Drill Sergeant School, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Unit Prevention Leader, Protective Services Training, and Combative Instructor. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix, and is currently working on a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

After faithfully serving his country, Rick Jr. decided to depart from military service and return home to help support his family’s business. Since 2012, he has served in many capacities from Operations Manager, to VP of Quality Control. Currently, he serves as the President of RMI, which includes oversight of customer relations, quality control, and operations policy for the corporation.

Rick Jr and wife Marisa lived the military life… moving every few years to another state or country. They now enjoy their time living near family and raising their 4 sons. Rick Jr enjoys coaching his son’s sports teams and spending time with his wife.

  Serah Larison - Vice-President - HR & Administration

Serah Larison started her career with RMI as a part time receptionist nearly 13 years ago while in college. At the time RMI was a small growing Security company with only a hand full of employees. Serah proved herself quickly by taking on any task and learning as much as she could about the company. From scheduling to payroll, maintaining employee files and negotiating employee benefits, there really isn’t a position Serah hasn’t worked in.

Serah’s dedication and relentless work ethic paid off as she now works as Vice President of Human Resources and Administration. Working side by side with HR Manager, Richard Aparicio, their departments main focus is creating a pleasant working environment as well as aiding in employee relations.

Serah is the perfect person for the job, she is fair, honest, always professional and cares for RMI and the RMI Family.

In her spare time Serah enjoys spending time working in the garden with her husband and daughter or reading a good book.

In June 2017, Serah became a Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management.

  Clarence Roshell - Vice President of Operations - Western Region

Clarence is an Army Veteran who, upon graduation from Zephyrhills High School, Florida, in 1997 immediately joined the military. He attended and graduated from United States Army Military Police School, Fort McClellan, Alabama. Serving eight years as a military police officer, his service took him to four overseas tours of duty from being a member of retired General, Tommy Franks’ personal protection team to his final overseas assignment as a team leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Upon departure from the military, in February 2005, he joined the RMI team as the Western Regional Manager for the American Honda Motor, Co. account location. Clarence was then promoted to the RMI Operations Manager position where he assumed the responsibility of managing multiple account locations for the company.

Clarence currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Operations and oversees the operations of a larger number of account locations in the western United States. His vast experience and knowledge is a great asset to the RMI team and he is well-respected by his clients as well.

  Konnie Shanks - Vice President of Operations - Eastern Region

Konnie began her career in Security, in 1994. While working for a major automobile manufacturing company in Ohio, Konnie gained expertise in a variety of security disciplines from the field side, as a line officer and supervisor, to the operations side, as an Account Manager and Security Administrator as well as a Security Systems Administrator for Emergency Services, Project Manager and a Security Special Event Coordinator.

While working at this account location, from 1994 to 2004, Konnie rose through the ranks to eventually oversee the operations of a staff of over 300 security associates, for the protection of 14,000 client personnel.

Konnie joined the RMI International, Inc. team, in 2004, and brought a vast pool of security services knowledge with her, which has helped RMI grow over the years into a company with a reputation for providing quality and professional security services for a host of diverse clients.

Konnie resides in Ohio and currently holds the position of RMI Assistant Vice President of Operations. She is responsible for all RMI operations in the Midwest and eastern United States and provides personalized attention to the needs of all RMI clients in these regions as well as all RMI personnel operating at these accounts.

  Richard Aparicio - HR Manager

Richard Aparicio was born and raised in East Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1995 and went on to the University of California, Irvine where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a Minor in Education in 2000. Richard went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University, Los Angeles and in 2008 he eventually earned another Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. In 2008 to the present time, Richard has earned several certificates in Human Resources Management.

Richard began his employment in 2000 with a public sector labor union representing city and county employees based in Los Angeles and served as their Membership Services Specialist until he was promoted to Office Manager in 2003 and again promoted in 2007 to Human Resources Coordinator. In 2009, Richard continued to work as a Human Resources Coordinator for a private graphics and printing company. In 2010, Richardjoined the RMI team and became the Human Resources Coordinator. In his role, Richard has been instrumental in enforcing RMI’s policies and procedures while ensuring that all employees understand the importance of their commitment and dedication to RMI and to their fellow co-workers.

While Richard is not vigorously working for RMI, he enjoys playing baseball on several different leagues. Richard is very approachable and is always willing to listen to those who may need some sort of guidance or direction. This is reflected in the time that he shares with his family and friends.

Richard is very proud of the quality service RMI provides to its customers and of all of the hard work of its employees and is looking forward to continuing to serve with you all.

  Eyal Landau - RMI/AHM National Account Manager

Eyal Landau was born in Amsterdam, Holland. When he was 7 years old he moved with his family to Rehovot, Israel where he went to middle and high school. At age 18, he entered the Israeli military where he served in the Air Force until the age of 21.

After completing his military service, Eyal started working as a security officer, and later as a supervisor, at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. During this time he also worked as a security supervisor for EL AL Israeli airlines and traveled to many locations, including: Egypt, China and many countries in Western Europe.

While working, Eyal got his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Tel Aviv University. In 1993, after meeting and marrying his wife who was also a security officer at the airport, Eyal moved to Amsterdam, Holland where he worked as a security officer for EL AL.

Two years later they moved to Los Angeles with their newborn daughter, where Eyal worked as the assistant security manager for EL AL Israeli Airlines at LAX. During the six years that he worked in this position, Eyal also got a Masters degree in Hotel Administration from UNLV.

After his contract with the airline ended, Eyal worked for Professional Security Consultants (PSC) as an executive protection agent for ten years. Eyal then got the position as the Honda National Account Manager for RMI. Eyal has held this position since June 2011.

Eyal and his wife Limor have three daughters, ages 18, 15 and 12. When Eyal is not working he likes to spend time with his family, read books, and go to the movies.

  Gregory Bentley - RMI Southern Regional Security Manager

Gregory Bentley was born in Toledo Ohio in 1958. Gregory joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC), in 1976, where he served as a Military Policeman, Criminal Investigator, Investigations Officer, Special Agent with the Naval Investigative Service and a Military Police Officer. After nearly 21 years of military service, Gregory retired from the USMC in 1997, as a Chief Warrant Officer.

From 1997 to 1998, Gregory managed a team of Insurance Fraud Investigators for a Private Investigative firm in Raleigh NC. From 1998 to 2015, (nearly 17 years) Gregory has been employed in various levels of Management with several nationally recognized contract Security companies in NC.

Over the past 10 years, Gregory was employed with ABM Security Services, where he was the Branch Manager for Central NC. Gregory managed over 300 armed and unarmed Security Officers, with a client annual revenue of nearly 5 million dollars. In addition, for nearly a year, Gregory also managed a team of Aviation screeners, for Private and Chartered flights throughout various airports in NC and surrounding states.

In 1999 Gregory moved to Durham, NC and joined the RMI team, in April 2015, as the Southern Regional Security Manager.

In September 2014, Gregory married his wife Susan and they currently reside in Durham, NC with Gregory’s daughter Gabrielle who is 11 years old.

With nearly 35 years of Law Enforcement and Security experience, Gregory is very proud to be part of a team of Security Professionals whom pride themselves with a committed to excellence at all levels of Security service. Gregory looks forward to leading the RMI Southern Regional team of professionals to a level (second to none), and feared by other Security companies in the region.

Ofelia Juarez

  Natasha B. Perez - Account Manager

Natasha Perez comes to RMI with over 20 years of experience as a Telecommunication Specialist in the non-profit industry where she served as Vice President of Phone Room Operations and Client Services for Harris Direct. She has received several commendation letters from a variety of leading national non-profit agencies and was recognized by the National Group of Women in Philanthropy.

Natasha managed a fundraising project between 30 different non-profit organizations, overseeing 4 supervisors and 150 employees. Her efforts raised funds and built support for mainstream causes and candidates, for the nation’s top progressive organizations by maximizing net income and impact for those committed to public interest issues.  She has traveled extensively, both nationally and internationally, in support of her husband who served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and was active within the base Ombudsmen programs, where she assisted many military wives and family dependents from all walks of life.

Natasha jump-started her career in the security industry, in 2008, where she has always had a fond interest in law-enforcement and security-related matters. She has had the opportunity to work alongside and provide close protection for mainstream talent, both in the film and music industries, by managing and directing logistic teams for various security organizations and by coordinating, supervising and dispatching zone security for details and special events.

Jason Thomas

  Jason Thomas - Account Manager

After graduating high school Jason attended Job Corps in Charleston West Virginia, here he studied Security and Protective Services. Following that Jason worked as a security patrol officer for a large housing complex before becoming certified as an EMT/Firefighter and moving to a large industrial facility. Jason then began his career in Emergency Medical Services where he worked for a community-based EMS/Rescue service before joining RMI in 2011.

While at RMI Jason started out as part-time patrol officer and he worked his way up to Site Manager. Jason has implemented a digital fire protection tracking program for all fire systems and fire extinguishers. He is currently overseeing a pilot program that expands RMI’s EMT department in the Health Services Clinics for a current industrial client.

Along the way Jason became certified in Leadership and Development then received his educator’s credentials to instruct various Emergency Response and OSHA standard courses. He then developed the current Emergency Response Training Program, this program includes EMS Response, Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, Confined Space Rescue, Crane Rescue, Outside Resource Coordination, and Incident Command. Jason has trained over 100 response officers and has been in the incident command role of 37 rescue operations at our industrial facilities. He has written procedures along with pre-plans and implemented response operations for high heat/high risk cast furnace campaigns. As Regional Manager Jason has 200 Officers under his command and oversees 12 sites.

Michael Corkhum

  Michael Corkhum - Mid-West Regional Manager

Michael Corkhum was born in Dayton, OH, in 1989, and graduated from Covington High School, in May of 2007. Michael started his employment with RMI as a Security Officer at the Honda Parts Center in Troy, OH, in September of 2007.

In April of 2009 Michael was promoted to Security Assistant Supervisor and in October of 2012 he was promoted again to the Security Site Supervisor position. After years of loyal service and continuing education through both RMI and Honda Training programs Michael was selected to be the Mid-West Regional Manager.

Michael is currently living in Troy, OH, and a very proud father of a 5 year old son. Michael enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working on sports cars and motorcycles.

Steven Weber

  Steven Weber - Trainer

Steven Weber began his career in the security industry, in 1983, in USAF law enforcement. Upon separating from the military, in 1987, he worked as a corporate security officer and supervisor and as a security dispatcher and supervisor, for American Honda, while also working toward a degree in Linguistics. In 1995, he graduated with a B.A., from Cal State U., Dominguez Hills.

In 2003, Mr. Weber began working for RMI international and, in 2004, he began working in his present capacity. Since then, he has completed training through the Red Cross as a First Aid, CPR/AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens instructor and as an OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Outreach Trainer through the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational & Environmental Health, in Salt Lake City, UT.

In 2008, he began working remotely with RMI-Cliffs security personnel in Ashland, KY; Butler, PA; Coshocton, Mansfield, Middletown, West Chester, and Zanesville, OH; Rockport, IN; and, later, with Dearborn, MI, bus driver personnel.  

His duties have included researching federal, state, and local safety and security regulations and working with plant security personnel in the review and/or creation of their security standard practice instructions and job safety and health analysis forms as well as review and/or creation of miscellaneous account safety and security training programs. He has also provided similar services for various other RMI account locations around the country and monitors and tracks the training of RMI security personnel in the U.S. – to this day.
